John Morgan Hinson Sr.
John Morgan Hinson, Sr. -PARRISH, FL - John Morgan Hinson, Sr., age 63, died Tuesday, August 5, 2008, in Parrish, FL. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 12, 2008, at 11A.M. at Mathis Funeral Home in Cochran. -Mr. Hinson was a native of Cochran and was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Hinson. He was Founder and CEO of Hinson Building Corporation. He was a 1963 graduate of Cochran High School and a graduate of Middle Georgia College and Auburn University, majoring in Civil Engineering. -Survivors are his wife, Lisa Hinson of Parrish, FL; his son, John M. (Christie) Hinson, Jr. of Bradenton, FL; grandchildren, Coley and Claire Hinson of Bradenton, FL; his parents, Missie Hinson of Cochran and Talmadge Hinson of Cochran. -In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Union Hill Baptist Church, 802 Highway 126, Cochran, GA 31014. -The family is at 138 Third Street, Cochran and will greet friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Ilene Register Wiles

Ilene Register Wiles -COCHRAN - Ilene Register Wiles, age 80, died Tuesday in the Bleckley Memorial Hospital. Funeral services are Friday at 11A.M. in the New Life Church of God. Burial is in the Cedar Hill Cemetery. -Mrs. Wiles, born in Dodge County, had lived most of her life in Cochran. She was preceded in death by her son Rodney Wiles. She was a homemaker and a charter member of the New Life Church of God. -Survivors are her daughters, Sherry Wiles and Linda Wiles of Cochran; grandchildren, Tracy Wiles of Hawkinsville and Kim Wiles of Dublin; sister and brother, Myrtle Evans of Eastman, Mary Powell of Dublin and Jim Register of Orlando, FL. -The family is at 151 Edmondson Circle and will greet friends after the service at New Life Church of God. -Mathis Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
 

Mavis Tucker Jones

Mavis Tucker Jones -COCHRAN - Graveside services for Mrs. Mavis Tucker Jones, 86, of Cochran who died Tuesday, May 6, 2008 in Spalding Regional Medical Center in Griffin will be held at 11A.M. on Friday, May 9, 2008 in Jones Cemetery. Rev. Lane Collins and Rev. Bob Price officiating. -A lifelong resident of Bleckley County, the daughter of the late I.J. and Sadie McNeese Tucker and the widow of Sherman "Dick" Jones. She was a member of the Crossroad Freewill Baptist Church, was retired from L&H Shirt Company and from the Bleckley County School System where she worked as a bus driver and in the lunchroom. -Survivors include daughters, Janet (Fred) Floyd of Milner and Sandy (Doyle) Smith of Cochran; six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren. -The family may be contacted at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Doyle Smith, Abney Road and will meet friends at the funeral home from 7:00 until 9:00 P.M. Annie Picallo

Annie Picallo -COCHRAN - Memorial services for Mrs. Annie Picallo, 77, of Cochran who died Sunday, April 13, 2008 at her residence will be held at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, April 19, 2008 at Cochran Community House. -Mrs. Picallo was born in Crestview, Florida, the daughter of the late Henry Bagley and Carrie Evans Bagley. She was the widow of Joe V. Picallo. She had lived in Cochran for the past 14 years. She was a retired bus driver with the Hillsborough, Florida school system after 25 years. -Survivors include four daughters: Sherry Werner of Pasco, Washington, Gayleen Baxter of Tampa, Florida, Elizabeth Allen of Cochran and Diana Hale of Oak Grove, Kentucky; son: Joe Picallo of Daytona, Florida; daughter-in-law: Peggy Picallo; four sisters: Vera Daniels, Carrie Budd, Yvonne Bagley and Joyce Jones; three brothers: Henry Bagley, Jr., Jerry Bagley and John Bagley; 28 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren. -Fisher Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
 

Juanita C. Greene

Juanita C. Greene -COCHRAN - Funeral services for Mrs. Juanita C. Greene, 83, of Cochran who died Tuesday, April 15, 2008 at her residence in Roddy following a long illness will be held at 3:30 P.M. Wednesday in the Chapel of Fisher Funeral Home with Rev. Todd Sessions and Rev. Buford Raffield officiating. Burial will be in Pulaski-Bleckley Memorial Gardens. -A lifelong resident of the Roddy community, Mrs. Greene served the Roddy Baptist Church as church secretary, Sunday school teacher, and Girls Auxiliary and youth activities leader. As a volunteer, she assisted the residents of the Bryant Nursing Home and organized community efforts to help families in need. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Emy Peacock, great grandson, Harrison Butler, and brothers, William (Bill) Crosby and Seaborn Roger Crosby. -Daughter of the late Roger S. and Nethalee Mullis Crosby, she is survived by her husband: Thomas Milton Greene of Roddy; four daughters: Teresa Butler and her husband Ray of Eastman, Janet Greene Lemnah of Brunswick, Susan Hopson and her husband Michael of Burnsville, NC and Maria Greene and her husband James Kautz of Marietta; grandchildren: Ron Butler of Eastman, Jon Butler and his wife Courtney of Eatonton, Megan Lemnah of Atlanta, Sarah and Erin Royster of Asheville, NC, Laura Royster of California and Tyler Turk of Marietta; great grandson: Hamilton Butler of Eatonton; sisters: Jane Capps, Sue Moore Davis, Shirley Lister and Cynthia White; brother: Russell Crosby. -Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be given to the Georgia Baptist Children's Homes and Family Ministries, Inc., 505 Waterworks Road, Palmetto, GA 30268. -The family may be contacted at the residence at 521 Frank Brown Road and will meet friends at Fisher Funeral Home following the service. -Fisher Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Jane Bullard -COCHRAN - Funeral services for Mrs. Jane Bullard, 94, of Cochran who died Sunday, April 13, 2008 at her residence will be held at 11A.M. Wednesday in the Chapel of Fisher Funeral Home with Rev. Ken Brooks and Rev. Jerry Walls officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery. -Mrs. Bullard was born in Lebanon, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Sim Jackson Johnson and Zora Mae Bostick Johnson. She was the widow of Joe Dykes Bullard, Jr. She had lived in Cochran since 1945. She was retired from Carl Vinson V.A. Medical Center in Dublin and was a member of Cochran First Baptist Church. -Survivors include three daughters: Nancye Radmin of Puerto Escondito, Mexico, Cheryle (Robert) Janelli of Greenwich, Connecticut and Michelle (Woody) Moody of Warner Robins; five grandchildren; one great grandchild; two nieces: Zilla Fielder of Cochran and Shirley Mattson of Lakeland, Florida; caregiver: Janice Hobbs of Cochran. -Memorials may be made to Cochran First Baptist Church, 101 S. Ellen P. Dunn -COCHRAN - Ellen P. Dunn, age 86, died Saturday in the Taylor Regional Hospital. Funeral services are Monday at 3P.M. at Mathis Funeral Home. Burial is in Bowers Cemetery. -Mrs. Dunn, born in Dodge County, was the widow of James L. Dunn and preceded in death by her daughter Jean Dunn Jones. She was a homemaker and charter member of New Hope Freewill Baptist Church. -Survivors are her daughters, Myrtle Howell, Joan Smith and Kathy Howell of Cochran, Faye Pritchett of Davenport, FL and Joyce Farrell of Gray; her son, James L. Mark J. Pritchett, Sr. -COCHRAN - Funeral services for Mr. Mark J. Pritchett, Sr., 96, of Cochran who died Saturday, March 22, 2008 at his residence will be held at 11A.M. Tuesday, March 25, 2008 in Tabernacle Baptist Church with Dr. Kelly Pritchett and Rev. Jeff Walls officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery. -Mr. Pritchett was born in Bleckley County, the son of the late John Justice Pritchett and Lula Asbell Pritchett. He was retired civil service from Robins A.F.B. and a charter member and deacon of Tabernacle Baptist Church. He was an avid fisherman and woodworker. -Survivors include his wife, Helen M. Pritchett of Cochran; son, M. J. Burial will be in Bethany Cemetery. -Mrs. NeSmith was born in Bleckley County, the daughter of the late Jesse Daniels and Julia Mae Barrs Daniels. She was the widow of Cecil NeSmith. Jolene T. Long -COCHRAN - Jolene T. Long, age 59, died Sunday in the Medical Center in Macon. Funeral services are Tuesday at 3P.M. in the chapel of Mathis Funeral Home. Burial is in the Pulaski-Bleckley Memorial Gardens. -Mrs. Long, born in Fort Collins, Colorado, had lived in Cochran since 1970. She was secretary for Davis Propane in Cochran and attended Ruth Baptist Church. -Survivors are her husband, Felton Lynn Long of Cochran; her daughter, Daiquri Long of Americus. -The family is at 125 10th Street and will greet friends from 7:00 until 9:00 P.M. Thelma Kirkpatrick Walker

Thelma Kirkpatrick Walker -COCHRAN - Thelma Kirkpatrick Walker, age 86, died Sunday in the Fairview Park Hospital in Dublin. Funeral services are Wednesday at 2:00 P.M. in the Macedonia Baptist Church. Burial is in the church cemetery. -Mrs. Walker was a life long resident of Dodge County. She was the daughter of the late George H. and Edna Mixon Kirkpatrick and the widow of William F. Walker and Perry Brown. She was preceded in death by her son Glynn Brown. She was retired from Robins Air Force Base and a former employee of the L&H Shirt Factory. She was a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church, the Willing Workers Sunday School Class and the W.M.U. -Survivors are her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Wayne Dykes; her son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Jenny Brown; daughter-in-law, Jeanette Brown all of Cochran; her sister Bertha Register of Dublin; her brothers, B.J. Kirkpatrick of Soperton, Horace Kirkpatrick of Empire, Frank Kirkpatrick and Owen Kirkpatrick of Roddy; six grandchildren, Bob Dykes, Gary Dykes, Stephanie D. Gibbs, Perry Brown, Gail B. William "Bill" Griffin -CARY - Funeral services for Mr. William "Bill" Griffin, 67, of Cary who died Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at his residence will be held at 5P.M. Friday, February 15, 2008 in the Chapel of Fisher Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Jelley officiating. Burial will be private. -Mr. Griffin was born in Bibb County, the son of the late George and Helen Morris Griffin. He was raised in Valdosta but had lived in Cochran for the past 40 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and retired from Southern Bell Telephone. He was a member of El Sharath Baptist Church and Cochran Masonic Lodge #217. -Survivors include his wife, Hazel S.  James M. Flanders-COCHRAN - Graveside services for Mr. James M. Flanders, 66, of Cochran who died Saturday, February 9, 2008 in the Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon will be held at 2P.M. Monday, February 11, 2008 in Roddy Community Cemetery with Rev. Tin Lamb officiating. -Mr. Flanders was born in Dodge County, the son of the late Willie K. and Edna Sheffield Flanders. He had lived in Jacksonville, Florida, Macon and Smarr before moving back to Cochran in 2006. He was a regional manager for Union Chemical Company and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. -Survivors include a son, Rohn (Laurinda) Flanders of Cumming; two grandchildren, Jake Flanders of Dublin and Ian Flanders of Cumming; sister, Peggy F. Morgan Little -COCHRAN - Morgan Little, age 65, died Sunday at his residence. Graveside services are Tuesday at 3:00 P.M. in the Cedar Hill Cemetery. -Mr. Little was a life long resident of Cochran. He was the son of the late L.B. and Willie Mae Dykes Little and preceded in death by his brother Robert M. Little, Sr. He was retired from Robins Air Force Base. -Survivors are his nephews, Bob (Cheryl) Little and Stevie Little both of Cochran; his aunt and several cousins. -The family will greet friends from 2:00 P.M. until time for the service Tuesday at Mathis Funeral Home.
